NEW DOCSTAR™ VERSION 3.8 SOFTWARE NOW AVAILABLE
SCHENECTADY, NY (March 11, 2008) – docSTAR, a leading provider of document management software solutions, has released docSTAR Version 3.8. This represents a significant update to previous versions of the software. docSTAR v3.8 now delivers support for Microsoft Vista and SQL 2005 and also includes enhanced Index Importing for more robust document capture. Additionally, docSTAR announces the Product Marketing Alliance with YouSendIt which expands docSTAR’s document distribution capability.

docSTAR v3.8 - Microsoft Vista Compatibility
Microsoft’s Windows Vista introduced sweeping changes with their latest operating system. With the release of Version 3.8, docSTAR systems are now compatible for use with the Windows Vista platform. Users of docSTAR version 3.8 with Windows Vista can take advantage of Vista’s new security features such as the new User Access Control mechanism and ensures docSTAR users that their document management solution remains current with the latest Microsoft technology.

docSTAR v3.8 - Microsoft SQL 2005 Compatibility
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 is their latest comprehensive, integrated data management and analysis software which will enable docSTAR customers to reliably manage mission-critical document management solutions.
Enhanced Indexed Importing
The latest docSTAR software delivers compatibility with a broader range of applications for capturing and pre-processing documents for a more streamlined flow delivering greater workplace productivity and labor cost savings. With enhanced Indexed Import users can eliminate the need to pre-sort documents before scanning. docSTAR version 3.8 expands the number of complementary pre-processing tools available to extend docSTAR functionality. These pre-processing tools apply intelligent forms recognition to capture index information from scanned documents. This greatly improves the accuracy and speed in which documents are entered into the docSTAR document management system.
YouSendIt® Product Marketing Alliance
Many businesses need to send large files electronically via email. Frequently users are unable due to email server limitations, and therefore need to send files on a disk with an overnight courier service. This is expensive, time consuming and poses a security risk. InStar® Imaging Migration

With the release docSTAR version 3.8 InStar Imaging customers will be updated with all docSTAR features that were released subsequent to InStar Imaging 1.0.
