How do I scan a document?
- Open Docstar
- Log on if necessary
- Click on scan button
- Select the correct template you want to scan with
- Press scan.

How do I retrieve a document?
- Open Docstar
- Log on if necessary
- Click on retrieve button
- Type the title or keywords of the document you are searching for
- Click Retrieve

How do I run a template?
- Click on inbox button
- Select document(s) you would like to run the template on
- Either click auto file or manual file button
- Click start or run template
- When template is done running click ok or file permanently

Can I select multiple documents?
Yes you can, to select consecutive documents hold down the shift key. To select non consecutive documents hold down the ctrl key.

How do I print/fax/email?
With the document either selected or opened click the send to button. Select the correct tab, and choose either the whole document or select the pages you want.

Can I merge documents into one?
Yes. While in the inbox select the documents you would like merged, remember that the documents are combined in the order they are displayed in the inbox(ie. The lower documents are added to the end of the higher ones),then click the merged button.

How do I add a document to a folder?
Method 1 With the document open click the Folders button, then click the Add to Folder button and select the folder(s) you would like to add the document to. Method 2 From the results screen select the document(s) you would like to add to a folder, then click the Add to Folder button and select the folder(s) you would like to add the document to.

How do I create a user?
- Open administration
- Click on the Users + Security button
- Click new user
- Fill out the fields
- Click ok

How do I create a new security class?
- Open administration
- Click on the Users + Security button
- Click New Class
- Enter name of new class
- Click ok

How do I format a DVD?
- Open My Computer
- Right-click on dvd drive
- Select format
- Select FAT32 as the format type
- Enter the volume label (ie. VOLUME_0001)
- click Start

How do I create new Inboxes?
- Open administration
- Click on the Inboxes button
- Click new
- Enter the name of the new inbox
- Select correct class
- Click ok
